WORK EXPERIENCE Assistant Project Engineer, Saudi Arabia April 2017 – Dec. 2017 • Completed a project as an Assistant Project Engineer in Advanced Steel Works. Worked alongside Sr. Project Engineer for the erection of Silos within project deadlines and performed time planning and cost estimation for the project. • Drafting site plans and designs for steel structures using AutoCAD and Revit and preparing calculations for the structural design of two 90-foot tall, 270-ton Steel Silos with the capacity of 2300 ton each. • Monitored excavation and raft foundation of 635 cubic meter of reinforced concrete was laid for the support of silos. • Worked with project Engineers to discuss project scope, calculated CPM, time-phased planning and defining all construction activities within the time and budget constraints using Primavera P6 Professional software to provide the highest level of management and helped in various departments with the paperwork. • Daily site monitoring to Ensure the construction safety, quality of work as per standard plan and Project Schedule, Specifications and Preparing records on MS Excel of the work executed and providing it to PM. • Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards & Specification. • Monitored materials for the onsite project, review submittals and RFI and tracked them. • Maintained communication, provided support to engineering staff members and superintendents as needed. • Assisted in the coordination of project from conceptual stage through final plan preparations stage. • Perform routine aspects of engineering, requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision.
Civil Engineering Intern, Saudi Arabia Sept. 2016 – March 2017 • Monitored and Managed a highway project as an Intern in Global Pulse General Contracting & Trading Co. for the Design of 12-foot lanes with 3-foot shoulders with the project length of 10-mile multi-layer perpetual Pavement. • A multi-layer pavement was achieved with subgrade, lime stabilized subgrade of 8-inch thickness, flexible base of 8- inch thickness and surface of dense graded HMA of 6-inch thickness was adopted considering the traffic flow and budget. • FPS-21 software was used to evaluate the age of the road by the given inputs which gave us a span of 20 years with the following data. Estimated the cost according to standard values that could prolong the age of the highway that could avoid reconstruction. • Studied job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods. • Prepared, implemented and monitored scopes of work and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for control and integrity.
• Developed project plan and schedules using Primavera and MS Excel setting project milestones and timelines with the expected deliverables. • Preparing quantity estimates by using On-Screen takeoff and generating cost estimating from standard quantity pricing. • Reviewing contractor & subcontractor pricing & leading negotiations on behalf of client to drive fair contract pricing.
PROJECTS Design, Plan and Estimation of an Earthquake resisting Building, Major Project • Designed an earthquake resisting five-floor building structure using AutoCAD and planned and estimated the cost and time with the help of Primavera and MS Project. • Estimated for two kinds of bars: Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Reinforcing Bar and Steel bars. • Calculated the strength and cost it would require to resist the earthquake and be economical. • Installed a Solar heating system on the building to make it conventional and sustainable.
Maintenance and Repair methods for pavements, TAMUK • Worked on damages on the pavement and analyzed the methods that can be used to repair the pavement that could be cost efficient and age elongating. • Estimated the cost, according to standard values. • Combination of type of distress and repair method was adopted accordingly considering the traffic flow and budget.
Design of cost-effective pavement using FPS-21 Software, TAMUK • Designed a 4-mile stretch pavement using FPS-21 software given by parameters. • Various design methods were considered and finalized depending on life and cost.
Studied on 1976 Montreal Olympics: Project Management Failure, TAMUK • Miscalculated cost estimate at the beginning of the project. • Three main components of stadium lead to three different project delays. • Design delays due to improper on-site labor and material management.
Green building, Minor Project • Evaluated the cost and payback of the additional exterior wall insulation during the design phase in addition to the solar hot water and photovoltaic renewable energy systems. The 2-inch thick rigid insulation wrap was expected to reduce residential space heating demand by 33%.
