Employment History Civil Permit Supervisior 03/1989 – 12/1992 Ralph Parsons 100 w walnut, pasadena, CA Associate Civil Engineer Supervisor. Responsible for entire Civil Department ACAD drafting of blueprints for Civil section drawings of Wilmington Shell Oil refinery in Los Angeles.
Design and verification of all design criteria of underground utilities involved in expansion of refinery. Worked closely with city and state officials getting permits approved for all engineering disiplines for refinery. About 25 were involved, electrical, mechanical, piping, fire control, NOX, etc. Reported only to Project Civil Engineer, worked with very little supervision. Highly successful at performing all civil calculations and working with plan checkers to obtain final construction approval.
Job ended when Shell Oil bought the Chevron refinery next door, and laid off appx 100 engineers, creating a glut in the Los Angeles of over qualified and highly paid professionals.
Civil Designer 02/1986 – 03/1989 HM Scott Consulting 3475 Peck Road, El Monte, CA Civil Design engineer. Responsible for drafting results of survery, obtaining tenative tract documents, feasibility studies, processing legal description and registration of final tract maps with city of Los Angeles, and state of California.
Designed roads, and calculated lot and parcel map coordinates, using hand computers and auto cad programs. Did calculations for all earthwork quantities, retaining walls, storm and sanitary sewers, pumping stations, Lanfill calculations, landfill plans from design to final closure. Worked on Lopez Canyon, LA City landfill to its completion.
Worked closely with project engineer to ensure plans, deadlines and budgets were met. Did all calculations for runoff, land planning, storm drains, and lots of time spent in design and drafting of final street plans.
Superversied and ordered survey crew to plot land for elevations and legal description closures. Supervised junior engineers and draftsmen to create final plans for single family and industrial subdivisions.
Worked closely with LA ciy planning to get any redlines corrected and through the final permit permissions.
Civil Engineering Manager 02/1982 – 02/1986 Circle K Corp 734 Lincoln Ave, Orange, CA Worked on Circle K Corporation stores all over the southwest. We were responsible for demolition of existing stores, underground tank removal, installation of new tanks, all roadway and street connections, all underground utilities.
We did our plans at first by hand but then later transitioned to acad and I supervised 5 full time draftsmen getting plans done and approved.
Worked directly with Orange and Los Angeles county divisions responsible for permitting. Very familiar with both counties rules and regulations.

Civil Draftsman 03/1968 – 10/1970 Trico International Tempe, AZ Civil draftsman. Used all mediums, ink, pencil, and Leroy to create civil plans. I also learned how to blueprint, and was a very valuable member of the company.
